Mr Khan was heading towards Hyderabad Press Club at noon on Dec 31 when all of a sudden two activists belonging to Sindh National Front confronted him and started beating him up with an iron rod.
Mr Khan, according to family members, suffered injuries in the head, and has been advised rest by the doctors. However, CT scan of Mr Khan is clear, shows no internal injuries. They also caused harm to one of his fingers.
The PFUJ stated that such sort of maltreatment of journalists by political party activists shows the falling tolerance level in our society. The attacked warned Mr Khan against asking difficult questions from the SNF chief.
The PFUJ demanded to the government to take action against the culprits and they should be proceeded with in accordance with law.
