Law and order: Two robbery suspects killed in shootout

JHANG: Two robbery suspects were shot and killed and two others were injured in a shootout with police near Khoi Adda on Gojra Road on Sunday.

Four passersby and two policemen were also injured in the incident. Two suspects including Kashif Bhatti of Nankana Sahib managed to escape the scene.

The deceased were identified as Tanveer and his brother Zaheer, residents of Bhattian village in Nankana Sahib, and the injured as Akhtar and Habib, Lahore residents. The injured were taken to Jhang district headquarters (DHQ) hospital where doctors described their condition as out of danger.

The suspects were intercepted by police teams including officials of Bhowana, Saddar and Satellite Town police stations near Basti Odanwala after they had allegedly robbed a cell phone shop in Bhowana.

A rocket launcher, a Kalashnikov, 21 grenades and a pistol were recovered from a car the suspects were travelling in.
